Hattah-Kulkyne&Murray-Kulkyne National Parks

Hattah-Kulkyne National Park and Murray-Kulkyne Regional Park can be found in the North-Western corner of Victoria. Until recently the freshwater Hattah Lakes were seasonally filled by creeks connected to the Murray. These lakes could remain full for up to ten years without flooding, but flooding generally occurred, on average, once every two years. Unfortunately the current drought and industries such as the citrus industry, the wine industry and especially the cotton industry, use up a lot of the water of the Darling-Murray and the lakes have been dry for a long time now!
