Idalia National Park

This is not your everyday National Park, crowded with people everywhere... This is Idalia National Park.
The park is located in the Central West of Queensland, the nearest place of any size is Blackall, which itself is located on the Landsborough highway between Barcaldine and Charleville. And even these are places that not everybody will go to! Anyway, the National Park lies another 80 or 90 kilometres West of Blackall.
Main features of the park are the presence of extensive mulga woodlands, and the headwaters of the Bulloo River.
Going to this National Park usually means, that you're on your own. We like this very much: no other sounds then those that are provided by nature itself... Dusty camping facilities are available at Monk's Tank, but you must be self sufficient, so bring your own water, food and fuel. The best time to visit the National Park is from April to September.
