Gawler Ranges National Park

The Gawler Ranges are located on the Northern end of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. That is approximately a six hours drive to the North West, via Port Augusta, from Adelaide. Part of the Gawler Ranges is the Gawler Ranges National Park, where all of these pictures were taken.
The first time we went to this National Park was in 2004. We fell in love with this area, although the conditions were far from optimal, as can be seen at the overcast pictures, towards the end of the section. So in 2006, we went back.
The National Park consists of the former Paney Station and areas of Pine Lodge Station and Scrubby Peak Station. Old remains of these stations are still present in the park.
Another feature of the park is the scenic landscape, volcanic rock hills that are over and and a half billion years old. The organ pipe formations (volcanic rhyolite) are amongst the largest in the world.
And, like in so many Australian National Parks: wildlife galore!

But, enough talking.. Let the pictures speak for themselves..
