Kennedy Range National Park

The Kennedy Range and the National Park with the same name, can be found some 150 kilometres East of Carnarvon, which itself is located a little over 900 kilometres North of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It is close to the Gascoyne River and the Lyons River. From Gascoyne Junction, where the two rivers meet, the Kennedy Range extends to over 150 kilometres to the North. Only a small part is accessible.
Of course, there is plenty of evidence of Aboriginal presence, going as far back as 20000 years.
European explorers came to the area some 150 years ago. An exploration led by Francis Thomas Gregory named the area after the then Governor of WA, Kennedy.
The area is of great natural beauty. We seem to have a preference for those kind of areas :).. And, the crowds still haven't found it, another reason for us to go there..
