Egmont National Park

Mount Taranaki or Mount Egmont can be found on the Western side of the North Island, near New Plymouth. Weather conditions can vary immensely.
We followed the trails of a walk that is called the Pouakai Track. First it takes you to the slopes of Mount Taranaki itself, and then crosses a swamp and a river before arriving at the Pouakai Hut.
The Pouakai Hut has got a loo with a view (see also the Matemateonga Walkway page)..!
When we continued the walk, after spending some time on that loo, we got some great views of the mountain....
... and didn't pay attention to the path in front of us (see the chocolate picture).
