Tongariro National Park

The Tongariro Circuit is a very popular walk, and it is easy to understand why.
Here are some views from around the Oturere Hut. The Circuit is a Great Walk and the huts are supposed to have gas stoves in it. The Oturere Hut did have a stove, but no gas and we didn't bring our stove with us. We ended up cooking on small tea lights!
From Oturere Hut we climbed through a moonlike landscape to the craters: Red Crater, North Crater and Central Crater.
There are some beautiful lakes there.
From the Ketetahi Hut, one can see Lake Taupo. Sunsets can be great here.
