MURCHISON GORGE

Murchison Gorge is a river gorge inland from the small coastal town of Kalbarri in Western Australia. The gorge was carved by the meandering Murchison River and is more than 80 kilometres long, and up to 129 metres deep. The gorge lies almost entirely within the Kalbarri National Park. The colours and rock formations caused by erosion are superb. There is some great walking at The Loop.
