Yanga National Park is a relatively new national park on the Murrumbidgee River just outside the town of Balranald. Once operating as the largest freehold property in the southern hemisphere – the historic Yanga Station was opened to the public in 2009 as Yanga National Park. Yanga makes up part of one the world’s largest River Red Gum forest known as the Low ‘Bidgee Wetlands. The 1870’s homestead, directly on Lake Yanga still in almost original condition and well worth a visit and so is the Woolshed. Good campsite are to be found on the Murrumbidgee River in Mamanga Campground, if the gate is not locked.
